In this project, the members of the research team created replicas of prehistoric artefacts made of osseous materials (bone, antler, tooth, shell) what, in a second stage of the experiment, were used in various activities. The technological and functional marks present on these replicas were compared with those identified on the archaeological items, using high-resolution microscopes. In this way, it was possible to validate the different interpretations from the specialized literature, regarding the way of making and using the tools/ weapons/ornaments made of osseous materials, discovered in various archaeological contexts from sites on the Lower Danube.
